Hello and Greetings!

One of the great things about this time of year are all the traditions that we celebrate! Whether we're talking about a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, lighting the candles each week during Advent, or the familiar lessons and carols on Christmas Eve, we find ourselves thankful to be able to continue our traditions, as well as even establish some new ones.

Another tradition we celebrate at this time of year at Lakeview is our Annual Stewardship Campaign. Most of us received information with the details, but I wanted to write a quick note just to follow up. The work of Lakeview happens because of your generous financial and volunteer support of this community, and our theme this year reflects that truth,

“Because of you, our church changes lives”

Each week during worship we have been hearing from you all about how this church change lives-their own and others. Your support of the missions and ministries here at Lakeview enable our church to be a home for ALL those who are searching and seeking God's extravagant welcome. It also makes it possible for us to come alongside God at work in the community and in the world.

While there are many ways to support the congregation, in the coming weeks we ask everyone to think in a particular and prayerful way about the choices we make with our money in support of the church. Our time of prayer and reflection will culminate on November 26, 2023 when during worship we will dedicate the gifts and promises we have made. I hope you will join us!

God has done and continues to do remarkable things through us and with us here at Lakeview UCC – things that really do change lives! The support and gifts to our congregation make this possible. May Lakeview continue to be a place for those who are seeking a spiritual home and a community of love and support. A community where all are welcome as we gather in many ways, worship, speak truth to power, strive for justice, study, discuss, listen for God's still speaking voice, share of our gifts and remember and re-affirm our covenant with God and each other. A church that has not only already changed lives, but also looks beyond the horizon to discern God's call for the days to come. For as we do, we continue to find that there are many others who long for this kind of church and that they too will find a home here at Lakeview.
