April’s Mission of the Month is Childhood Food Solutions

Childhood Food Solutions is Lakeview’s mission for the month of April.  This small local program provides food for hungry children in the Roll Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati on weekends, holidays and summer breaks, when school nutrition programs are typically not available.  

Lakeview’s donations this month will help the program to purchase, pack and deliver food boxes to needy families identified by school personnel.  The overall goal of this program, over the years of its existence, has been to demonstrate the effectiveness of responding to the nutritional needs of children in terms of academic outcomes. A further goal is to encourage similar programs to be developed throughout Cincinnati and surrounding school districts. In our current political climate, with cuts in safety-net programs projected or already announced, your financial assistance for this private sector program is needed more than ever.
